Countries across Asia and around the world have begun checks on China-made milk products and banned sweets and desserts, as China's melamine-tainting scandal ripples through global supply chains.Indonesia health ministry has temporarily banned imports of dairy products from China.
It says the situation in China is severe and Indonesia doesn't want to get affected.
The Ministry says only one dairy product from China has a legal permit for distribution in Indonesia and the government has withdrawn it from the market for investigation.The Indonesian Food and Drugs Supervisory Agency has instructed all regional offices to take Chinese dairy products from stores.Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines are also testing Chinese dairy products or taking them out of shops.
